Sophie Stevens is a qualified gemologist and diamond grader, and provides independent jewellery valuation services for Fleur’s Finds.

“You may wish to obtain a jewellery appraisal for a number of reasons – for insurance or investment purposes, to find out resale values, or simply to satisfy your curiosity if you have inherited or been gifted any jewels. Due to the potential high value of jewellery and its portable nature, it is sensible to have your appraisal done by a competent jewellery appraiser.”

Sophie is a director at 51:55 in Dubai, an art and jewellery collection management service, having previously worked for the esteemed Bonhams Auctioneers as a Specialist in their market leading Jewellery department in London.

At Bonhams Sophie dealt with a wide range of high value jewellery and gemstones, from early Renaissance pieces through to contemporary designs. She regularly handled jewellery from the world’s leading Maisons – such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron – and worked on auctions featuring a number of record-breaking gemstones.

Prior to this, Sophie worked for one of the world’s oldest diamond and jewellery dealers between London and Munich, handling jewels of exceptional quality and provenance. She has worked with clients across the globe advising on the value and sale of their jewellery.

Sophie contributes to both regional and international press, and was Reviews Editor for “Jewellery History Today”.
